Variable and Varying Quantities

Variable :

The word variable mostly used in Physics, Mathematics and computer science.In mathematics it is usually denoted by letter, such as 'x' or 'y'. These types of letters are used in mathematical equations to show numbers that are unknown. A variable name can hold a single type of value.Using a branch of mathematics called as Algebra, one can find the value of the variable.But, what is the actually variable is ?
" Variable is an element or factor which is not consistent and liable to vary or change".

Varying Quantities :

Variables are also common in science, where they usually represent physical quantities such as distance, displacement, mass etc.These physical quantities are not fixed and constant at different interval of times.These quantities can vary with respective conditions and with respect to time. Hence, these quantities are known as "varying quantities".

Variable and Varying Quantities are also used in computer programming.Each programming language works differently with variables.In computer science, a variable is a value in a program that can change.The value that is stored in a variable can change.  Variable does not have to be a number. It can be a string, a data and an object.Because of this, variable are commonly used to store input and output values in computer science.
